As founder of Burke Capital, Jim is a proven executive leader, having served as CEO and board member for numerous public and private companies. His innovative “Out-of-Court” turnaround practice has now become an industry standard. As a strategic problem-solver, Jim brings clarity and wisdom to many difficult situations.
Notable successes include CEO and board member for LTD Ceramics and Strasbaugh, in the semiconductor equipment industry; board member for NetsWork and Telpro Technologies, in the data communications space; CRO of both SBMC, a precision metal fabricator; and Arix Computer a mainframe computer manufacturer. Burke has advised and restructured dozens more distressed companies over his distinguished career.
Additionally with a background as a senior credit officer for Wells Fargo and Union Banks, he has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for startups, growth companies, restructures, and acquisitions. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. He actively participates in the Turnaround Management Association, Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum, and he serves on the managing board of the San Jose Attorney, Bankers & CPA Association.
Peter Dennis is an accomplished executive, with expertise in manufacturing, operations (COO) and finance (CFO). He is a talented entrepreneur, having owned and run many successful businesses over several decades. When introduced to new situations, he can rapidly determine what issues need addressing and develop clever, non-traditional solutions.
Peter digs into the minute details that can make a business profitable. His abilities include systems engineering, costing analysis and improvement, and supply chain management. But he can also help make sense out of this by producing comprehensive, yet concise management reports.
Recently Peter established and fine-tuned the Asian supply chain for an electric bike company. He has worked with such diverse industries as a portable scanning project and an automotive manufacturer/reseller. In these engagements Peter sourced creative financing when the companies did not yet qualify for traditional bank lending.
With an initial background as a journeyman sail-maker, Peter opened his own sailing business, eventually selling it for a tidy profit. He continues to be an avid sailor and he and his wife enjoy their second home in the San Juan Islands.

Mike is a senior executive with a unique background of middle market business leadership combined with decades of senior credit officer experience for well-known commercial banks. In addition to advisory roles his consulting assignments include positions as co-President, acting CFO, Chief Restructuring Officer, and Court-Appointed-Receiver. He has provided consulting services to a diverse range of businesses including heavy equipment and consumer products manufacturing, commercial construction, furniture importing, social media and crowdsourcing.
His over thirty-five years of commercial banking experience includes two decades as Chief Credit Officer at four San Jose based commercial banks: Plaza Bank of Commerce, Comerica Bank – California, Heritage Bank of Commerce and Focus Business Bank. Mike holds a BA in accounting from California State University - Fullerton, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and an Executive Award Certificate from the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management at Dartmouth College. He has been an active member and leader of several successful boards of community based organizations. And, in 2007 received the California Economic Development Lending Initiative’s (CEDLI) Award for Outstanding Leadership and Innovation in Community Economic Development.
Greg Belanger is a senior financial executive with broad leadership experience in strategic planning, product development, credit structuring and teambuilding. As president of Comerica Bank’s Technology & Life Sciences Division, Greg essentially launched the group from infancy to over $8 billion in loan commitments. His innovations in product development and market segmentation created one of the premier financial tech practices in the country. Greg’s focused channel marketing strategy developed extensive relationships in the venture capital and private equity markets.
During Greg’s distinguished career at Comerica he helped scores of technology companies manage cash and gain access to growth capital. He successfully managed bank relationships through the strains of high growth and he amicably resolved the occasional credit default.
Greg graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Economics and earned his MBA in Finance from Santa Clara University.
In his free time, Greg enjoys skiing and hiking. In the Summer you can find him summiting Half Dome or Mt. Whitney with his family.
Don is a dynamic executive with decades of successful finance, accounting, in-formation technology, human resources and general management experience for privately-held companies. As both owner and executive, he is actively involved in operations, business acquisitions, quality systems and technology. His management during periods of rapid growth and significant downturns, directing both expansions and contractions of personnel, information systems, physical locations and working capital, enables companies to meet all challenges.
His wisdom and guidance improves financial management, operations and profitability improvement, sales and marketing, strategic planning and growth strategies. Don assists with planning and financial improvements to increase sales and EBITDA, strengthens infrastructures, and teams with top mid-market investment bankers in order to maximize eventual sales price. Don holds an accounting degree from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
Jim has served as CEO, President, Chairman and/or Director of eleven public, private and non-profit corporations. He acquired and managed a number of companies for an East Coast Private Equity firm, including Institutional Financing Services, Discovery Toys, Eos International, Maritime PartnerShips, Regal Greetings & Gifts and America’s Lemonade Stand. He is a governance, general management, sales & marketing specialist with deep experience in consumer products, direct sales, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, turnarounds and capitalization. He served as senior executive for Avon Products and has successfully led businesses in start-up, radical growth, crisis, buy/sell transactions and founder succession.
He has led eleven mergers and acquisitions and currently serves on the board of Administrative Systems, Inc., St. Francis Yacht Club and St. Francis Sailing Foundation where he was President for five years. Jim holds a BA from Mercer University and completed graduate studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
As an investor and turnaround manager, Bill’s insight and experience give him a unique perspective as an advisor and financier. He is currently involved as Vice Chairman and Principal of a London-based specialty finance company, a Canadian manufacturer of control rooms and trading floors, and is an advisor to a Japanese automotive safety products company.
Bill is also a Special Advisor to C.M. Equity Partners, a New York-based private equity fund. He was formerly with McKinsey & Co. management consultants, and Credit Suisse First Boston, investment bankers. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the Yale School of Management.
